Are you a candidate for an Eisenworks website?
You are a candidate for an Eisenworks site if:
- You run a community newsletter in print form, and would like to take it to the web
- You run (or want to run) a community website and don't want to wrestle with html
- Your community website is too difficult to modify and keep up to date
- You want to share responsibility for its content and maitenance with other people, but lack of technical knowledge is a barrier to their participation
- You want to offer a community calendar of events, and allow organizers to add their own events to the calendar
- You are a community activist, and you want to provide a vehicle for community members to discuss important community issues, community planning, etc.
Your Site Should Be Attractive, Flexible, Easy to Use and Modify
- If you write, and want to share what you write, you shouldn't have to know about technical things like html to do so.
- If you have a community newsletter in print form, making the transition to the web should be as easy as slipping on a new pair of gloves.
- You shouldn't have to know how to lay out new content.
- It should be as easy for others to contribute as sending an email. You should be able to see, edit, and/or approve what they write if you wish to do so, then flick a switch to make it public.
- Your site should have the look and feel that fits your community.
- You should be able to specify what features (see below) your site needs, and easily add (or subtract) features as your needs evolve.
